Rust.... Science

We had recently read about 'rust' and were able to make some personal connections to where and how we had encountered it in our everyday lives. We also had the opportunity to speak to Michael Ellem who is a Senior Corrosion Engineer at Shell Todd. He visited room 8 and was able to share his wide knowledge about the topic as well as being able to answer any questions which the children had. Mr Ellem was very impressed with the children's questions and curiosity about the subject.

Maths multiplication and division creativity

Some Room  8 students have created their very own 'figure me out' maths games, using a mixture of multiplication and division questions which will give you some interesting facts about themselves as well as our classroom....

We have been writing persuasive letters to Mr Luckin, to convince him as to why we need to have a pet day at school. Miss Carson and room 8 students have together decided that they would like to  'give back to the world' by purchasing various products and materials (such as different animals or school supplies) from World Vision to make a difference to the lives of families in need. This ties in well with our Key competency of 'relating to others' as well our Catholic philosophy of 'living like Jesus' by being a loving and caring community. 

PRODUCTION- GOWN ALTERATIONS

Production practise is in full swing- the tamariki have been working very hard practising for our school production "Over the rainbow" learning new songs and beautiful dance routines with the help of Mrs Luckin.

Room 8 girls' gowns need to be hemmed and made shorter - if there are any mums, grandmas (dads and grandpa's included :) )  who are able to help with this, it would be most appreciated.

Please can you let Miss Carson know as soon as possible.
